[why are these crows so rude damn. there's a slight pout as she tries to duck away from the peck, but she waits! and here comes pestilence. aerith's arms are tucked behind her for now, casually covering the word on her arm where her bracelets don't reach but she offers a smile once they arrive.]
Hey! Thank you for coming. After yesterday I wasn't sure if you would want to. [everyone had a lot to be mad about and they're right for it, but she can still be a little sympathetic about the position they're in...for now.] It's nice to meet you.
I think that bothers me less than the part where it's out here pretty much by itself. [why did we do this. she's reaching for a pack of candy to examine it.] If it's that bad, you could pick where to go instead.
Hello to you, too. [she's not that fussed, this is fine.] There's a list of monsters that someone got from you guys. I don't want to know what the powers are, but...if I asked you about some of the names, would you be able to tell me what they are? There's names on here some of us have never heard of.
[oh, hello. she pauses a little to make sure he's good before she speaks again.]
Yup. All in one piece and everything. [...hm. is that crass to say when she's dead? oops.] Kinda looks like you guys had your work cut out for you today.
[ writing w2 in the header of this aged me 40 years and i'm a mod. anyway she can enter the penthouse, c+ps this
The penthouse, as one might expect of... a penthouse, is more spacious than the studios and built out with actual rooms. It's modestly furnished and nondescript to the point of emptiness: austere, wooden furniture and plain windows, impossibly fogged and streaked with water, even if the weather outside is clear; the sound of rain persists. Atop the desks are tidy lines of jars filled with looted supplies from the pharmacy, tools from the hospital, vials in a stand, and a stack of notes. It's neat, academic, and impersonal. There's also a small, whittled statue of a wolf to the far side.
The 'decor' is otherwise limited to flowers. Drying from the ceiling, dying in vases, dropping petals that decay and vanish before they strike the ground. Two lotuses set in a china bowl, one starting to wrinkle and wither. His Death mask is hung up, but beside it is another fashioned firmly on one of the walls, as though grafted in, swollen onto the wood like a tick to skin. Basically these are the vibes, except less cozy and more surreal, gritty and strange as any of the other rooms. There's some couches and a TV too, for convenience.
death is currently heating some water in a small fireplace and working, so she can come in and have a seat wherever. ]
...Aerith. [ WHAT A TRIAL ] You all must be tired.
[the absolute jumpscare i got from this second mask, jesus. anyway, this is...perhaps gritty and strange, but given she spent a lot of formative years captive in a room at shinra's headquarters she isn't really that uncomfortable. she should maybe sit down, but when she wanders in she finds herself quietly entering the suite and walking to observe everything. she's a little too curious for her own good sometimes, interested in what kind of a person death is, but there's the little bit of restless energy, too.
and now that the trial has concluded, some of her brightness has dimmed though her demeanor remains calm. still pleasant. still thoughtful of and grateful for his time.]
It's a little funny. I thought maybe being on this side would be a little less stressful than trying to solve everything, but I think it might have been worse. [wowee.] This probably doesn't get any easier for you though either, does it?
[ penthouse hours... it looks similar to her last visit, though there's some keychains on his desk and the rain outside seems to be coming down harder than before. he's just staring up at the ceiling doing fucking nothing for a minute. ]
...Aerith. [ hello. ] What did you want to talk about?
That's how we're gonna address him from now on, huh? [amused. hi bitch, welcome. glad to see you.] With the arrival of five very different people and the highs and lows of the weekend, things got a little out of hand. But if I didn't know any better, I'd think you missed me.
Normally I'd at least tell you to get to a bed before doing this, but after the last couple of days who am I to scold you? [she's joking, but she does crouch so she's more on his level.]
week 0, monday
Which is to say, a little bit after the crow pecks Aerith and flies away, it will return with Pestilence following closely behind. ]
