What would you wish for her?

Well. Our circumstances are quite dangerous, and even if we succeed, if we stop the creature that is the source of her power, I don't know what will become of her.

So I want to make sure that she can defeat our enemies and still live and be unharmed.

I know that's an option. I haven't found anyone with a dead partner yet, but given the amount of death they must be out there.

There are, yeah. I can confirm that. And I know there are other people out there who do want to partner up, so the possibility isn't completely out the window.

Oh, good. Gale told me if you were partnered and your partner dies, you can partner with someone else before the execution, is that true?

But if it's your partner getting executed, there won't be any way out of it.

So if there's someone whose partner we like, we should kill them before execution.

It does put us into many pickles. Not the dog.

You see, I know Kate is seeking her partner. And I want to protect Kate no matter what.

[so a lot of the more crazy things she says are things that would only apply if it was a situation where kate was in danger.]

And I don't want to lose any of the ones I care for if there was a simple way to mitigate the damage. But I'm not always so clever, thinking of solutions.

I think you are as clever as anyone needs to be, Laudna. Geniuses can be pretty useless at figuring out problems.

...Hmm. I suppose that's true! [nobody in bell's hells is smart but they've bested their wizard enemies a few times. then again, this is one of the things she relies on delilah for - all of her complicated wizard and strategy questions.] I'll try, then.

And just don't forget, you can always try to talk through ideas, too. Sometimes just ruminating out loud with someone can make you realize something.

We lost so many over this weekend. I understand the logic of killing people who are possessed, so they don't kill more. But if so many are turning into monsters anyway... it doesn't feel like we're making much progress to dam anything.

I think that it'll just be hard to have everyone agree on this particular thing.

How to deal with anyone afflicted. Everyone I've spoken to about it has had a very different view on how they should be handled.

I'm not sure if mine matters that much, in the grand scheme of things...

I just mainly hope people don't rush into things they'll regret after.

Well... if it's a simple difference of opinion, then maybe it won't change minds. But certainly I think it matters. At least to discuss these things.

Maybe we've all assumed we're on the same page. I want to survive, but it isn't as though I enjoy hurting people who didn't intend to hurt me.

If anything, having everyone talk about it might be for the best. Even if you all do just continue with how it's been going, it's better to get that agreement out in the open now before it gets nasty later.
