Now, why are you making me feel like I've caught you doing something scandalous? [ he looks so stunned. help. ]
I am actually not big on participation in cults, so it is only my personal opinion when I say that is a very stupid thing to do. But I guess... some groups do not mind the lack of anonymity under certain circumstances.
Well, that makes two of us. I already feel religion is a... crutch to some, [ sorry, shadowheart ] but I have become not a fan of the object of Gale's previous love affair. Shouldn't a goddess have the power to do what she asked of him easily? Sounds a little questionable to me...
I don’t have any faith or stock in the divine. They don’t do anything unless they want to — I don’t expect much from them, but the literal Mother of Magic didn’t even lift her divine finger for her boyfriend.
[ ok he knows it’s more complicated than that but like. gods. ]
For the all power they claim to have, they aren’t especially willing to use it unless it suits.
He does. I'm aware he's looking for his partner, but he has some suspicions they don't want to be found. [ looks at essek over the glasses he doesn't have, but that's the energy. ]
Not impossible, but the chances are extremely low. I am not surprised he is interested in the benefits, though his life will then be tied with someone else.
Are you helping him even though you don't want it for you?

I'm not actually happy to know no one talked him out of what happened to him. It was something that was weighing on him, that was abundantly apparent even to me. No one picking up on it where he's from is... a strange thought.
[ MAYBE he could understand lae'zel and himself not realising. but karlach? not seeing a friend struggling? it's hard to believe. ]
It is bizarre having a mirror to look into. [ what does this mean. ] To see you get bothered by the annoyance of what friends put you through, the friends you never asked for maybe, but who forced you to be friends anyway.
I can understand.
I don't think it's a bad decision to try. The deaths of all partners shouldn't occur instantly, if our assumptions are correct. That means he would have a chance.
It means I spent a very long time on my own, isolated from the rest of my people because I questioned our faith and its artifacts. Until a bothersome little troupe of people tried to befriend me.
[ annoying! but here they are. ]
Well, only if his confirmed partner died, then he potentially could, but his life would be tied to someone else, of course, to make that so. High risk, high reward.

You weren't supposed to just walk out yet.

Oh, well I beg your pardon. Last time you did tell me not to linger.

I just said do not take forever. There are four of us who live here permanently who need the bathroom as well.

[ caught with your mask off, sir. ]
Is it as heavy to wear as it looks?

A truly anonymous cult. How interesting. Most of the Absolute just wandered around with their identities fully on display.

When your goal is a little more wide reaching that simply birthing a god, you don't need to hide your identity quite as much, I suppose.

The ones Gale was instructed to destroy...?

Personally, I think his goddess can get off her high horse, but the idea of blowing it up isn't such a bad thing. Maybe not with a Gale, though.

Well. Gale has some choices depending. What becomes of his fate is now in his own hands, and the decision is his own. Much like yours.

He does. I'm aware he's looking for his partner, but he has some suspicions they don't want to be found. [ looks at essek over the glasses he doesn't have, but that's the energy. ]
Don't they?
no subject
They have not made any attempt to say they do not wish to be found, but I wouldn't say they are trying to dig very hard.
no subject
Hmm. So, not impossible. He’d just have to strike very decisively and get very lucky.
