I don’t have any faith or stock in the divine. They don’t do anything unless they want to — I don’t expect much from them, but the literal Mother of Magic didn’t even lift her divine finger for her boyfriend.

[ ok he knows it’s more complicated than that but like. gods. ]

For the all power they claim to have, they aren’t especially willing to use it unless it suits.

[ take me OUT ]

He does. I'm aware he's looking for his partner, but he has some suspicions they don't want to be found. [ looks at essek over the glasses he doesn't have, but that's the energy. ]

Don't they?

[ i am begging. ]

Hmm. So, not impossible. He’d just have to strike very decisively and get very lucky.

He said it himself. Inaction is the end of him.

[ ... ]

I'm not actually happy to know no one talked him out of what happened to him. It was something that was weighing on him, that was abundantly apparent even to me. No one picking up on it where he's from is... a strange thought.

[ MAYBE he could understand lae'zel and himself not realising. but karlach? not seeing a friend struggling? it's hard to believe. ]

[ gazes. ] What does that mean? [ don't call him a mirror. ]

... Unfortunately, with exposure you get used to people. [ he's going to stab anyone who kills karlach or gale don't tell him that. ]

Wait, even partnered ones? There'd be a window to prevent the obvious?

[ yeets out one last tag and goes to bed. ]

Ah. That does sound a little familar, even if perhaps they didn't corner me while I was in a specific type of isolation. What made you start questioning your faith?

[ annoying, and yet you are still cornered by them. ]

Ah. Yes, well. I suppose we will have to wait and see what happens -- not to wish a person dead, but it would be something we could work with.

[ and none of them were me. ]

Oh, I have quite the active social life here, you understand. But I can make time for you and your tales. [ share. ] So... researching them rather than just accepting what they can do without question?

Ultimately, I have priorities.

[ oh he is being allowed forbidden access. ]

Hm. It actually works? Both your Queen and your mother remember past lives?

[ ... ]

Generally speaking, the gods do not do things because they feel benevolent. Surely there was something in all this for your deity.

[ everything here is forbidden. the forbidden npc mtv crib. where does the magic happen? ]

You don't need to be coy with me about religion. I gave up hope on the gods hundreds of years ago. [ ... ] Oh, so... some sort of mechanism that has been so long forgotten it gained a mythical level of notority?

I've never heard of an artifact that could transfer memories to someone though.

Remarkable.

[ he can rush right in without care and ruin things. yay. chaos. ]

If you could harnass that with less ... limitations on when it works. That would be quite the powerful tool.

Ah. That's unfortunate.
