Cool. Thanks.

Uh, this chimera thing for one. Can you explain that in any more detail now that we're not in the middle of a trial? Like, how closely are those two people working together? We're pretty sure we found the last monster from last week now, but I'm still not sure how the chimera thing fits into that. Does that mean that two out of the three murders that week had two people carrying them out?
drymonster: (did you say prance-a-tron??)

Huh? No one asked about this already?

...And wait, there were four during the trial? Not counting Iwatooshi? Does that mean there was still one that we didn't identify?
drymonster: (i don't have any lines in this show)

[ oh he does not think ANYONE understood that timing nuance. ]

Fuck.
Uh. Okay. And they're still possessed by it??
drymonster: (i couldn't get work for five years)

Ohhh my god. Okay. Is it— is it half of the chimera that's still around? Does it matter if the other half of it dies?
drymonster: (that's some kind of sex)

[personal profile] drymonster 2024-07-01 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
[ ...okay, well, maybe he can at least logic out the second half of that question himself. ]

So, just to make sure I have all the numbers right and I'm not missing something else — the week before this, it was just Erin, Nona, and Iwatooshi. Right? And some combination of those two was the chimera, and they carried out two of the murders together, while the third acted alone on one victim?
drymonster: (aren't there usually questions & answers)

[personal profile] drymonster 2024-07-01 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
........So one of them was just an unrelated person who wasn't even possessed?? They just. [ exasperated gesture ] Did that?
drymonster: (i don't wanna be a guest on a talk show)

[personal profile] drymonster 2024-07-01 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
I mean, I guess, but Akabane and Kasuga-san's murders were both pretty fucked up!

[ not that it bothers him that much in karma's case, and he'd totally approve of someone in their right mind killing him, except erin already took credit for that one. so does that mean it was ichiban's?? THE TORN OUT HEART ONE???? ]

Kind of felt better thinking monsters did both of those!
drymonster: (this is how i am denis)

[personal profile] drymonster 2024-07-01 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
Well, no, I agree with that, I just. Had been under the impression that everything so far had been monster related, so this is one hell of a mental retcon to have to make, you know?
drymonster: (this was no ordinary ceiling tile)

[personal profile] drymonster 2024-07-01 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
...Yeah, I know that's the bigger priority. The other one shouldn't have any incentive to do anything again if they already have their reward guaranteed, right?
drymonster: (i don't know them)

[personal profile] drymonster 2024-07-01 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
[ also nods... ]

Yeah. Okay.

[ ... ]

How much of a concern is the "when"? I mean, is everything limited to Thursday nights, or could a monster just decide to kill someone earlier in the week if they wanted to? And would you expect it to make a difference if they already knew they'd been found out? Like, make them more desperate or something since they're expecting to be targeted.

[ since that is... obviously a pressing question right now ]
drymonster: (she'd be dead by the time i got there)

[personal profile] drymonster 2024-07-01 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
Mm... I was thinking if we only had to worry about her on Thursdays you could just lock her up in one of those barriers again on those nights, and maybe buy some time if there's a possibility of developing a cure.

[ frowns ]

But I guess her power might make it kind of tricky to even be sure you had the right person in the barrier.
drymonster: (and i'm like "what's up with that?")

I told her she should ask you guys about that, so... hopefully she will, and maybe you can all figure something out.
