It is often called Ghor Dranas by others. It too is surrounded by mountains and, nearby, a forest. The Ghostlands are on the outskirts of the city. The Firmaments are the interior, for residents, merchants, and worshipers. This is where the Lucid Bastion is located, the seat of the court. The Shadowshire is underground. The Gallimaufry is the commercial district.
I see. It's possible... I don't know much about you at all, as I said. We work with the Tal'Dorei Council, primarily, and it seems Allura knows some of your friends.
...I do have to say. Perhaps your logic about the disguise makes sense for when we traveled to Zadash. But you first introduced yourself to a group including me, a werewolf, a fey, and a Ruidus-born sorcerer, so I'm not sure the theory about a drow elf being unwelcome holds. At least, for Allura's little gathering, whoever shows up is whoever shows up. Even the champions of betrayer Gods are included to some degree.
help!!!! the way there is probably a very good reason for this that has started dawning on them since the last conversation they had about Shit Happening at Home..... it's much easier to reluctantly tell people who don't know anything at all about you all of your political crimes. but someone who knows? who knows you!!! ]
Well, I haven't experienced my own future which you apparently are a part of, but... based on theoretical reasonings... I assume the disguise is because I have been labeled a liability from both the Empire and the Bright Queen.
...Yes, I would say so. [and then voluntold him to be a teleport chauffeur.] I admit I don't know them well. But I know they have been working on the problems unleashed by Ludinus in their part of the world, and that you are their companion.
[ there is a long, equally hesitant moment of silence. ]
...At first, they were a nuisance. They walked into Rosohna as if they had little to be worried about. Beauregard was mouthy and nosy, and Fjord spent a lot of time trying to keep her in line. Jester was the most bothersome out of the bunch. Nott was careful, but prone to sneaky ways, I believe. Caleb was quiet, but was interested in our magic. Yasha did not let much get by her. Caduceus was holding them all together by a thread.
I was ordered to babysit them, and they spent any chance they could pestering me with Sending spells for nothing, or begging me to teleport them somewhere.
But... they... were stubborn. They never gave up trying to reach out to me, and I don't understand why. It didn't matter how cold, or rude I was to them. After a while, I grew to trust them a little more... And I... took them up on an offer to have dinner with them some time before coming here.

[ FOR NOW.............. sweats in the future ]
I am the Shadowhand.

I... also wonder why, though... [ a pause, considering. ] I believe I may be able to... surmise a little of exactly why. Perhaps.
An educated guess.

Well, there are only a few reasons someone would disguise themselves. Someone who... stands out in the rest of the world. As a drow.
[ ... ]
I must have left the court.

If that were true, would you mind it?

...I don't know. It would be easy for me to say I would not. And yet... there are a few people there who are important to me.
But I suppose I wouldn't have a choice if the right necessity arose.

[well. she has no idea to take that.]
I never do well with royalty or nobility, anyway. So that's quite all right.

[ royalties laudna (no). ]
I can't say what happened other than... likely... if I'm still alive, but using a disguise, I am probably on the run for some things I have done.

[not likely.]

Yes... Well... In any case, it sounds... as if the Nein held up their end of... being friends.

I wouldn't... necessarily call it that. They are merely friends.

They do sound a little bit like my friends, in some ways. At least in that they can be very irritating, but trust can go a very long way.
