The larger cult played a hand in Nehan's death. I suppose, in a way, they also played a hand in Aventurine's as well, by performing the ritual earlier in the week.
I don't begin to think they won't be a continuous problem for us.
A shame they didn't run into Boothill while they were sneaking around. However this possession mess works, it did a number on Boothill's sanity from what I saw. That would've been fitting.
