"They weren't mine. The Halls don't belong to me. The Mighty Nein are the ones who initially brought me the Heirloom Sphere, and I am researching it on their behalf."
He really peers at the edge of the opening without leaning over exactly like a quiet, but haughty elf. Goodbye to all of those cats.
"The illusion is you thinking you should and could save some cats, but not all of them. Not a single one of those cats is more valuable than the next." Weird elven wisdoms. "Let us go find out what has happened to your friends."
He will start walking down the hallway that's connected to the opening! It's a bit dark, but even so, there seems to be a small, soft, radiating light coming off Yussa which lights the way.
smoke rises from kate's head as she processes the cat-massacre and yussa's answer. is that wisdom? she's not exactly satisfied with that justification. but. ]
... Okay.
[ there's probably no use in trying to run or fight at this point. so she pulls the hood of her robe back up over her head and follows. the important thing is making sure she finds her friends alive. ]
NOT THOSE CATS. That would be funny. I hope Siz doesn't find out.
They don't really walk for what feels like very long, but the way the tunnel is made, is distributed, it seems like it should have taken a long time. The other end does not have any portal, or door, or even opening, and yet, the two of them somehow simply step out from the wall and into the room all four of them had initially been in with the giant clock, two mirrors, and two chests.
Gojo, of course, is nowhere to be seen. They are both on the platform with the large clock, and the hands are moving, the second hand ticking in its rotation. It's now 8:00 according to the time.
In the mirror on their platform, Kate can see some things happening with Lucas and Nona.
[ kate catches just the tail end of things. lucas charging at nona. the dire wolf lunging at him. she clasps a hand to her chest and steps forward, fearful of coming too close to the mirror, but even more fearful of what's happening inside. ]
We have to get them out of there!
[ but nona also just blinked out of existence so ???? ]
For a moment or two, Yussa does not intervene, but stands with Kate to watch the bit of what occurs as Nona disappears. He sighs quietly.
"I was only trying to enjoy some tea," he laments.
From within the confines of his golden robes, he brings out the cantaloupe-sized sphere again. The outside is turned between his fingers like before until the pieces lock into place, open, and glow faintly.
The entirety of the edge of the dimensional Plane begins to quake and shiver. It rumbles then, loud, the sound of something like paper shredding. The edges of reality start bending over and tumbling down toward the opened sphere in Yussa's hands, being sucked in by some unfelt gravitational force. It takes everything with it. It takes them, too. The whole room, Kate, Nona, Lucas maybe even Yussa.

"See you, Foreign Travelers," Yussa says.
Everything goes dark.
