[ I rolled a 20 on how well to dodge... and he's going to try to whack the mimic with his quarterstaff just to have something in between them. Keep! Distance! No chomp!
I guess shadowspawn will have to chill there until he figures this mimic out. ]
The natural twenty means Gojo has lightning reflexes, and he can spring around before all of you get into more trouble than you have been. The quarterstaff sinks down into the organic interior of the Mimic's mouth, feeling unnaturally squishy for something which looks like a chest. It tries to close the lid, but it hits the edge of the quarterstaff, unable to do so.
It growls actually! The long tongue whips around out of the side, trying to get a lick on Gojo. The shadowspawn on the other platform does seem to wait for instructions.
NONAAAAA. Lucas departs from view of the mirror, and the last thing Nona sees of him is his journey toward a shadowy figure in the distance. The mirror grows dim, and then, suddenly, she can see her own reflection in the surface like a normal mirror. The gap, the other platform, the shadowspawn are all behind her back there...
And then the mirror's surface shoots out again, turning into globules and snatching her inside.
This is a Mimic, yes. It almost had a meal, but the meal was too fast, and now it's pissed off. The slimy tongue gives Gojo a lick across the chest, though thankfully, it does not have any kind of terrible tongue. He's now just gooey and moist. Enjoy.
A rippling, whirling ball of ice leaps out of Kate's hand and slams into the Mimic, icing it over not unlike the cannon had been iced over before. The Mimic struggles against the icy encasement, though, attempting to close its mouth to try to break it.
But Gojo slams it with a shot of green, crackling energy. The tongue flaps repeatedly as its electrocuted with dark, arcane energy. The lid slumps, though it is still stuck half open from the ice.
The shadowspawn can't find anything to do with the giant clock. There is a door at the bottom of it which Yussa ran through earlier. It can give the other chest a swift and heavy kick to see if it will come open. The lid swings up and over. A trap on the side activates, but the magical explosion doesn't do anything except poof the shadowspawn out of existence.
[ Ew... Good thing the other chest exploded, though. Satoru gives this chest another whack of the quarterstaff to see if it moves again. May he peer inside its mouth since it's forced open by ice? Are there treasures inside? ]
We might need to drag them back... Or maybe the mirrors are connected.
[ From this side of the room, if he looks to the mirror, who is it showing now? ]
Ow.......... The Mimic is stiff and does not move when it's slapped by the quarterstaff. Hopefully dead. At least iced even if it might not be, right? There doesn't seem to be any treasure inside. Just a mouth much like Gojo's own mouth, except it's in a chest and has rows of sharp Boothill teeth rather than rounded ones.
The mirror on this side with the two of you has Nona in it now. She's getting helped up off the ground by an unfamiliar young man with dark hair, but she's surrounded by Cloud and Ashlyn. The mirror across from them on the opposite platform now has Lucas, but it's a front view of Lucas, unlike the view from before. Lucas is facing you both, but Scien - it looks like by the bread-tie ass hair and sloppy clothes - is there, offering the two of you his back.
[ and cloud and ashlyn? yeah she's also looking at the mirrors. ]
Maybe he can come out on that side...
[ this may be hopeful thinking.
but she will try casting Mage Hand to conjure a spectral hand and send it to go tap on the distant mirror, like a child at an aquarium who does not read the signs. can she try to get lucas's attention? ]
[ No loot??? Blasts it again because he's annoyed, not because it's helpful. ]
It looks like they're both in separate instances despite being from the same mirror... But he did get pushed to the other mirror when I think it was just Nona looking in and it was just Lucas, right? [ WOULD BE AWFUL IF THEY BROKE ONE, he won't do it. ] We might need to just go in.
[ But he'll wait until Kate does her check. Strokes his chin... Checks the clock time again. ]
Maybe if we go at the same time, we'll be in the same instance?
It'd be funny if he broke a mirror. The Mage Hand appears - it really is this big fucking hand. It traverses across the gap to the other platform and taps on the mirror. But Lucas doesn't notice or respond. His adventure...
The time now is 11:50. That's weird.
The second hand on the clock ticks forward over and over, but ends up falling back when it goes. Forward - back - forward - back, like it's stuck.
The Mage Hand swoops into the other non-Mimic chest. It grabs something...? It pulls out a wide, golden bracelet which fits on the forearm. It will bring this back to her.
11:45. The second hand keeps attempting its forward ticks, only to be kept from going ahead through time. One. One. One. One.
Godmods Kate into doing what she will probably do which is send the Mage Hand back over to the clock. Which hands (of the clock) do the Mage Hand try to mess with? Hour? Minute? Second?
There aren't any designs on the bracelet, and she can't feel any particular magical vibes. The inside, however, has a little inscription: Tyme flowe and ebbes / thrugh werking fyngers.
The Mage Hand pushes on the minute hand of the clock face, urging it to go forward. The minute hand shifts, though stubborn and somewhat resistant. It's pushed ahead to 12:10, speeding through twenty-five minutes.
The second hand is stuck trying to go forward, but it always ends up ticking back over and over. The minute hand very slowly is inches counter-clockwise now, and before long, it's 11:44 instead of 11:45.
The scenes in the mirror bothchange again for the two of you.

Shadowspawn can... Can it do anything to the clock? What about the chest on the other side? Can it kick or break it open.

[ looking cautiously at the mimic... ]
What do we do? Maybe we could use a rope to cross to the other side, if there's something to anchor it to...
[ are the chests heavy enough? maybe the clock... ]
But, those two were swallowed up by the mirror...
[ can they really try to move on like this? ]
