[ I'm sorry for you all but he does think he's stranger danger rather than things would be a stranger danger to him (he'd get stabbed even if he didn't give out his full name is the baseline).
Hmmm. The apprehension sort of eases out of the elf as he slowly stands. But he does not move from where he is at yet.
"Yussa Errenis," he offers to you all in return.
This is, of course, the elf you had heard about on the ship, even if the gossipers didn't know what he looked like, hermit that he seems. Yussa Errenis, the one who lives in the strange tower in the middle of the Open Quay which he owns. A connoisseur of tea and magical artifacts.
"The only reason people see me without an appointment is to steal the Heirloom Sphere."
He does not wait. A single word in what you all think must be elvish springs quickly from his mouth. You can feel the edges of yourselves begin to vibrant as Yussa casts Scatter.
Now everyone must make a Wisdom saving throw by rolling a d20.
Well, unfortunately, Yussa is an extremely high-level wizard. All at once, every one of you are lifted bodily up from where you are and flung away. Nona and Gojo land several feet off to the side in a lump. Lucas is flung a little farther, crashing into the wall by the bottom of the stairs.
Kate, OUR KATE, goes flying a yard or two up the stairs themselves, crashing through the banister and landing, only to begin toppling down them to the bottom where she runs directly into Lucas. You all take force damage.
Yussa, during this time, has pulled a cantaloupe-sized golden sphere from somewhere. He doesn't hold it right between his fingers, but it floats instead, suspended within his hands. He begins to quickly manipulate the plates of the outside, turning them like a Rubik's Cube until grooves and lines, when connected, begin to glow. The sphere unlocks, and some of the plates pop open.

My name is Lucas; it's lovely to make your acquaintance. I do hope that you'll enjoy his method of preparation - I found it quite fascinating, myself.
[A warm little smile!]

[ there's a pause, like she might give a last name, but she thinks better of it.
she nods in greeting and keeps her hood pulled up, a little uncomfortable at being scrutinized by a stranger. ]

And then, suddenly, all of you are transported to another dimensional plane.
