[ HELP ME!!! SHE'S SO MAD. there is surprise at the hand holding, but... they... allow this, they suppose. the vibes under her rancid demeanor are somewhat awkwardly embarrassed.
ANYWAY, they will look at this letter from aerith, and there is a kind of mildly fond annoyance about the sendee. ]
Yes, but is there something wrong with a failed ritual? Are you all... eager to be sacrifice en masse to summon a god...?
[it's fine. the longer she is forced to hold their hand thanks to this dumb curse, the more embarrassed she begins to feel.
thankfully(?), it's extremely dampened by the sense of dread that's replacing all of her anger. there's a bit of shock, followed by resignation, and a sense of feeling so stupid and foolish.]
Of course we're not. It's just... I didn't know if she was telling us that we needed to be under six or to stay above it, so I was hoping— [well. it doesn't matter what she was hoping. she cuts herself off with a shake of her head.] Never mind. That means at least 14 more of us need to die, right? But wouldn't the cult just kill everyone to start over if they notice their ritual's doomed to fail?
just holding her hand politely while glancing at this letter every so often while they speak. ]
If they notice. I hope you all don't begin to panic again and resort to rash measures. Don't forget what we warned you of initially: if all of you suddenly begin disappearing in one go, the cult will then turn its attention here and likely replenish the pool with another handful.
I know. I still remember. [their scheduling issues finding a good time to take camille out the back, too. she takes in a breath, processing.] If the dead sent this out to more of us, then... We have to talk about it, before someone panics and starts acting recklessly. We're already losing five a week thanks to the monsters alone.
[signs that dana and francy plotted this game: there is math involved.]
I think the dead were trying to find a way out of that space, but I don't know if they've made any progress. Do you have any idea why Aerith would be talking about rocks and runes?
As long as you are organized and it doesn't happen all the time. If we put up too many veils, the cult will probably begin to think something is strange. But you may talk amongst yourselves in smaller groups.
[blaming them for math]
The dead are wanting to come back here...? Why? So they can become afflicted again? So that the cult will have many to chose from when it comes to spilling blood for a ritual? [They shake their head.] No one here has mentioned or shown to me anything about rocks, or runes.
I don't know if it's back here, specifically. Just... out. I mean, it'd be just a different kind of bad if they were stuck in that plane forever, right?
Probably, yeah... From the sound of their letters, things aren't as bad over there as they are here, anyway.
[they're just Stuck, which is bad but not quite as horrible as being stuck in the murder jungle. maybe.]
But say we do get our numbers down to five without the cult noticing, and the ritual begins so it's too late for the cult to clean the slate and start over. What's going to happen to the five who get left behind, exactly?

Perhaps the answers lie on their plane.
