Lucky. [she wishes she could unsee the teeth.] I got the sense it's meant to be used in a ritual. Lavi said you told him just about the same thing when he asked you about the tongue?
As someone familiar with spellwork, they seem like components, yes, though I can't say for what. I don't know. My own spellwork does not use such... organic components.
... In someone's memories, I watched them sacrifice a body part as an offering so their god would resuscitate a friend. And I've heard of body parts being sacrificed to devils in exchange for their powers, but... None of the rules of our worlds apply here, so I don't know.
The only ritual I can think of is the one to summon the god. And that can't be the case. Why would we be the ones finding those items and not the cult?
If they aren't here with someone else, then possibly, yes. Substitutions in spellwork can be made sometimes, but of course... with magic, with ritualistic magical recipes, it could change a whole lot of things.
You could very well end up with something completely different.
Well, it was described to me as a fragment from a scroll. I only saw a copy, though, not the original. So I don't know if that's accurate.
It basically said that the god the cult will summon might be a newborn, and that the ritual needs to be completed perfectly or else the god will lose its immortality.

Ugh... [wrinkles her nose a little, disgruntled.] It better not be someone who'll mouth off and get themselves killed.
[extroverts... she sighs.]
By the way, there's something else I've been meaning to ask. Have people come to you about the items they've found on their... um. Trips? Or whatever.

I have been shown the tongue, yes.

It's a valid question. I cannot say how this plane works, however. We do have a strangely rotating portal access in the swamp.

joking, but not entirely:]
Maybe the next group to go on a trip will find an instructions booklet.

Perhaps it would be best if they did.

That would depend on if they gave them away to someone else or not. Otherwise, they are gone much like what goes after the trials.

Did anyone come to talk to you about a fragment from a scroll that was found a few weeks ago?

Any magical ritual needs to be performed with the utmost perfection, or it'll fail.
