[DON'T JUST CHOMPY MOTION AT THE CAT the cat probably doesn't know what to do with this and sticks a paw on their face before settling more cozily when they're sat.

NOT THE FLOCKING EITHER THIS IS SO FUNNY HELP. At least some of the cats are attracted to the sound, including a very large one that just climbs onto his lap and immediately takes up 90% of it. Lucas leans against them a little as they slump, petting this big ol cat's noggin.]

but unfortunately they just make a vague humming noise before they just also quietly and silently fall asleep, breath evening out. everyone is making lucas a pillow in this here barn

This is so cute though... What a cute little peaceful moment where he gets to be so warm and cozy surrounded by cats and a person. HE'S THE BEST PILLOW!!! He just sits here careful not to move too much, absentmindedly petting the cats that are all piled up on his lap as his mind probably wanders to the horrors of murder and vicks vaporub.]

[ famine probably doesn't nap long. they take actual doctors recommended naps of 20 to 45 minutes as opposed to the common naps of passing out for 5 hours and then wanting to know what year it is

eventually they shift slightly when they wake up again, but don't lift their head just yet

instead they reach a hand out to pet one of the cats on lucas' lap ]

When they shift, Lucas snaps out of whatever weird meandering turns his brain had been wandering down for the last 20-45 minutes. He moves his hand - which has long since just gently come to a rest against the largest cat - aside so Famine can pet.]

They're sweet. [And small and fragile and innocent lil souls who have done no wrongs in this world.] I don't usually get the chance to spend time with them.

Traveling to do my job takes up most of my time. I'm rarely ever home, so I'd feel just awful keeping a pet...
