Death-- or, Nehan, I guess, was the cult, at least. Too many of the things you found didn't really add up. Karma just acted weirdly suspicious for no reason, I guess.
Well, you know, ants can carry carry things that are many times their body weight, and together can create pretty great structures. And they're hard to get rid of.
[ the irony of someone called pestilence being anal about garden upkeep is not lost on him, but he doesn't comment on it. ]
I dunno a lot about startin' one, but the upkeep and tendin' I can do and know what it takes. Only fair to help take care of things I'm askin' to take stuff from, anyways.
You think I could maybe get some seeds of stuff here, too..? Me and Aerith were talkin' about maybe tryin' for a garden in the village to take some weight off this one. Brighten the place up, give some folks somethin' to occupy 'em, and get some more things for medicines.
[ small but not too small... writes down my conspiracy notes... i'm thinking this is francy but stay tuned on character guesses. ]
Gods, there's this thing called Manymaws back home. It's a giant monster plant with a buncha toothy mouths, and all these beady eyes all over it, and the mouths are on the end of these tendrils. I'd half expect somethin' like that to grow in breathin' meat dirt.
Uhhh... everythin' and anythin', I think? Animals, monsters if they're the right size, people if they can. They can tear chunks out of you, too, so I guess nothin' is actually safe.
Professor Cyrus Albright! He's a scholar I travel with - kinda yaps like no tomorrow, but it's not to hear the sound of his own voice or to talk over anybody. He just likes learnin' and teachin'. He'd tell you all about what he knows on the weird plant monsters in Orsterra.
Sort of! Mr. Gale reminds me of him, just kinda... sassier.
[ gale and cyrus in one game almost happened. the yap capacity would be overloaded. ]
It's pretty nice. There were eight of us, too, so lots of specialties and experts in stuff. Like a smaller version of the village - cults unfortunately included.

[ exhausted. ]
... so they found out you guys were up to somethin', or at least him?

[ we're all sacrifices at the end of the day so what's it matter to the cult? ]
So we just gotta keep goin', and us sacrifices can try to keep bein', y'know, ants under their radar as far as they're concerned.
no subject
So, let us be ants then!
no subject
Y'know what? Yeah. Yeah, let's be ants! They won't know 'til it's too late what a buncha ants can do.
[ FLEX but as an emotion, before he gives pesto a lopsided grin ]
So, if I can prepare for all kinda stuff... it'd be good. And if I can help - like here, at the garden, if you guys need it - I'll be glad to.

[ some people offered, but also they are not good with plants, and pestilence is so anal about this in particular. ]
I'd love the help.

they lower their voice. ]
Just make sure people don't do anything weird.
no subject
Oh, yeah no. We don't need anybody messin' things up or, I dunno. Puttin' breathin' meat in the fertilizer.
no subject
They would! Someone definitely would! And who knows what would pop out?

[ sorry, their everything just lights up at that. ]
That sounds fascinating! What does it eat, if it has mouths?

I mean terrible. It sounds terrible.

Ohhh you'd get along with the Professor, he says stuff like that all the time about things that can kill us.
I'll stick with regular ol' seeds instead of anythin' that'd sprout a Manymaws.

[ it's supposed to be encouraging but they sound a bit disappointed. ]
Who's the Professor?

[ don't sound disappointed about that??? ]

[ that sounds like it would be so funny to watch. ]
I suppose if you're traveling, having an expert in your fields is convenient.

A lot of you have cult experience, actually.
