[They half-hobble to Gojo eventually, walking on a cane. Their crow is also there, squawking at having seen something indecent. They sound tired already.]
...Did the heavens grant you the gift of art, too?
[ CATCHES THE BIRD and pets it a little, but also making sure it won't be able to peck him. It's kind of like being imprisoned in someone's hands. Is that a comfort to be without agency? To know your fate does not need to rely on your own choices? ]
[ gojo does not hear them appear because there are no footsteps.
when they do appear, gojo feels as if he gets slapped down onto the ground by a giant, extremely heavy flyswatter. IT'S REALLY HEAVY but only lasts for a few seconds. ]
I don't think these are terribly important, but I wanted to know.
One, when you guys said the cult summons a monster that is aligned with one of the ones we have affinities with, then a person is afflicted with that monster and goes haywire—this is the same monster? Like the cult summons a dragon, it's going to make someone who's dragon-kin go murder crazy.
Two, will pairs being thrown into this whole thing change how this ritual works? Would affecting one person also affect their confirmed partner?
Three, can you guys provide water and snacks during trial next time if we have to do this again?
Four, how long's the duration for the weakening ritual we did this weekend?
Five, I don't really care much about this but I might as well know in case things get worse but what are the details about partnering in terms of perks. I heard a lot about wishes or something with it. I don't really trust this weird system, but still good to know.
Six, if you guys can provide snacks sweet pastries would be great.
Seven, with Nehan gone, will you guys be even busier than before? Should we be helping out somehow?
I've been drawn to you the very night you were summoned to this decrepit village. It was only then did I begin my journey to reclaim myself... Barely, faintly, but a simple wisp without form nor thought. It took days passing for my senses hone, drawn to your golden warmth and radiance. My manifestation, my emotions, this correspondence — it is all because of you.
However, I question: why do you toil so? I wonder and wonder, but I find that you shine brightest in resistance.
May you continue to resist the darkness that swathes these derelict visages ever so tightly.
You guys mentioned the cult summoned a chimera last week, right? It was supposed to add up to three monsters being active, but normally a chimera is joined as one entity.
Anyway, are we expected to see that more, possibly?
[ This Monday, one of the crows will come to Gojo without being beckoned over. In simple script, they are told to pass through the fog on the south side of the village and go to the garden that the Overseers were seen tending to on the very first Monday. While there, Famine meets them and hands them the following parchment: ]
You have been chosen to declare one rule to be implemented in the rulebook until the night sky once again changes with the new week. You may also implement one penalty if the role is not followed in a week’s time, to occur the following week.
