[ oh no your internet

but yay garden. he's in this with some light khaki pants, it's cute. ]

Okay. [ he sits down with a cup of tea and sighs tiredly. ] Thanks for coming out here, there's some old stuff I keep forgetting about and then a lot of new stuff that came up in the last few days, so.

[ takes out his phone and opens up his notes app checklist to keep himself from getting too far off track. ]

Uh, the big thing that you're probably getting lots of questions about — what exactly is our endgame plan here? There's been information going around saying that the cult only needs six of us alive, but then some kind of mixed messages about what that actually means we need to do. We're supposed to try to keep as many people from dying as we can until the week of the ritual, and then... kill however many we need to get the number below six so the cult doesn't have enough?? Is that right?

Like, I think I get the logic, but it still sounds kind of insane.

What is the deal with the rocks...

But. Okay. So having less than their ideal number alive at the end really is the goal then? And something will keep the cult from realizing we've gotten that low if it happens in the final week specifically?
drymonster: (well that wasn't very good)

[personal profile] drymonster 2024-07-16 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah... all right.

And those creepy items we've been finding when we get pulled into those weird places through the fog, those are... pieces of something for a ritual we're doing? Is there anything we should be doing with them for now?
drymonster: ('cause... you weren't alive back then)

[personal profile] drymonster 2024-07-16 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Right. If we did something like write up an agreement saying that in the event of monster possession or death, those things become the communal property of the living people in the village... would that cover that? I know you don't exactly have a functioning legal system here, but is there still something binding in written agreements like that?

[ nods ]

Okay, I'll have to talk to Alfyn and Geto-kun about that...

...Then, uh. The partner thing. [ a lot of mixed feelings with some noticeable self-loathing in the mix. ] Is it... do you think it's better to do it or not at this point? I don't even know how many others are in this same situation now.

[ presumably still camille unless something changed in the last 48 hours, which it definitely could have, but also like. he likes her but she's kind of a trainwreck and he doesn't know if he wants to mess with that. and the idea of linking her to daan's monster feels like... oof. ]

... honestly, after this week, it's probably better and easier for people to do so. You still get your wish and all.

If the numbers seem off, people can try to quickly repartner if theirs end up dead. But I know the whole reason people were avoiding it was because they didn't want to die.
drymonster: (man... you're wrong about that)

[personal profile] drymonster 2024-07-18 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[ cool... the feelings just kind of get worse at that. ]

Yeah... okay.

[ ugh. it was nice having an excuse not to so he could feel like he was smart and practical for being alone instead of pathetic. ]

Do you know how many other people with dead partners there are right now? It kind of feels like everyone already found theirs while I was still waffling on it.

There is a decent enough of an amount that at least most of you without one can find one. It's just still getting others to agree, I suppose. People might want to hold off.
drymonster: (no not that one)

Also feels embarrassing to ask at this point.

[ pokes him. ]

It's only as embarrassing as you make it out to be! Remember, there's loads of people in your exact same situation.
drymonster: (i've seen all your movies)

[ poked... he smiles sheepishly and looks down at his tea cup that he's been ignoring. ]

Right... I'll try.

[ sips her own tea, like to encourage him to do the same. ]

And... at least everyone is supportive to each other, for the most part. So it's something you can discuss together.
drymonster: (don't take this the wrong way)

[personal profile] drymonster 2024-07-20 01:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[ it works... sips and nods. ]

The same limitations still apply, though? Like, even if you don't tell anyone what your monster is, can you only tell three people per week that your partner's gone?

[ he would actually probably already know the answer to this because in retrospect i think i might have fucked that up by confirming when yuffie asked in the house thread on monday so I GUESS MAYBE HIS BLOOD BOILED A LITTLE... ]

[personal profile] rhine 2024-07-22 12:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmhm. But anyone you previously told your stuff to, would no longer count for that number. So, if you tell three people you don't have a partner, if you decide you tell those same three people the following week what your monster is, you're not wasting your three new chances.
drymonster: (no not that one)

[personal profile] drymonster 2024-07-22 01:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I only ever told one person anything and I already know they're taken... This is going to suck.
