[ let's go to the beach, beach!! over to the island....
rondo's here hanging out, standing with his pants rolled up to the knees and just enjoying the water. he waves to pestilence when they arrive and then puts a hand to his chest and bows, a polite and gallant greeting. ]
Hello, Pesti! [ this is way better than pestilence actually yeah it feels so mean calling someone pestilence. anyway. ] Thank you for answering my letter. Isn't the fresh air really nice?
It is a good change of pace! You get sick of the same weather after so long.
[ the same weather being fog city. there's a pause, and they bow back, but a little awkwardly. it is obvious they are not used to greeting others like that. ]
A vacation... heh. It's nice to be able to set aside everything, at least for a little while.
[ considering all the. murder. the delulu. ]
I grew up inland, and the Knights don't really go out to the coast, often. The Lord of Grandport tends to have things under control in the Coastlands, so we focus our time in other places.
I've always wanted to, though. So... even in a situation like this, it's nice to be able to find a silver lining.
Mmm... I guess I probably could have taken one, if I wanted to. But I worked so hard to earn the position that I had - and every day was a learning experience, and a chance to get stronger.
[ yaaay join him. it feels really nice!! probably. i dont know it's your game it could be frigid miserable cold ocean water.......... ]
Heh. I guess so. I feel like here, we have to enjoy all the little moments of light we can get, too.
[ like a beach vacation! he starts to take his gloves off so he can squat down and touch the water and the sand... uwah... and listening to these leech facts. ]
Would they not survive well in the ocean...? I guess they're kind of like worms...
While there are some leeches that can live in the ocean, that's not typically the case for most of them. Salt is pretty deadly to them, so they wouldn't survive in saltwater.
[ a pause. ]
Although I wouldn't recommend just using salt to kill them either. Can't say I approve of it, they were here first!
That's - it's one of my favorite things here, that everyone has such different experiences and does such different things. It's really amazing what we can learn from each other. [ and besides, this sounds kind of cool... ] ..What's a biome? Is that like an animal's house? What's your favorite kind of animal to study?
[ opens their mouth. closes it, as they realize they shouldn't get too scientific here. ]
It's basically individual environments where animals and plants reside. Biomes tend to have specific climates, which affects what lives there-- so, more aquatic animals wouldn't really live in a desert biome.
I see...! [ this is an excellent explanation, and he nods, now looking back at the ocean in fascination. ] That's really interesting, Pesti. I can't imagine what kind of interesting discoveries you've made.
[ which, actually... ]
You and War are both scholarly types, huh... ? [ our smart npcs... ] Is Famine like that, too?
I think... all four of us are, actually. [ includes death in this. ] Our fields are just different. But it's partly why we get along. We all tend to view things a little more logically.
[ it's what makes joining a cult funny. ]
Although I realize I don't usually give off that impression compared to the others.
[ i have to erase death from my memory because nu is dead to me
oh! that makes him laugh, a little. ]
Heh. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. You shouldn't ever judge a book by its cover! I mean... If you compared me to Sir Sazantos, our attitudes couldn't be any more different! [ compared to sazantos rondo is the doofiest, goofiest puppy in the entire world. it is like comparing an apple to a flamingo.] I don't know that I could ever be as serious as he is, but... here I am, anyway.
[ ✨ flameguard ✨ for some reason. ]
If the world was made up of all the same kinds of people, it'd be awfully boring.
week 1, monday
And I'm free. Tell me to go wherever, and I'll see you there.
[ and pestilence will show up to wherever he indicates. woo. ]

Very gallant. [ c: ] I swear, I almost forgot what the sun looked like. And the ocean - have you ever seen it before, Pesti? This is my first time.

[ they glance over at the shoreline. ]
I have, but I don't live particularly near it. So it really feels like a vacation to see it.
