Mmm... I guess I probably could have taken one, if I wanted to. But I worked so hard to earn the position that I had - and every day was a learning experience, and a chance to get stronger.
[ yaaay join him. it feels really nice!! probably. i dont know it's your game it could be frigid miserable cold ocean water.......... ]
Heh. I guess so. I feel like here, we have to enjoy all the little moments of light we can get, too.
[ like a beach vacation! he starts to take his gloves off so he can squat down and touch the water and the sand... uwah... and listening to these leech facts. ]
Would they not survive well in the ocean...? I guess they're kind of like worms...
While there are some leeches that can live in the ocean, that's not typically the case for most of them. Salt is pretty deadly to them, so they wouldn't survive in saltwater.
[ a pause. ]
Although I wouldn't recommend just using salt to kill them either. Can't say I approve of it, they were here first!
That's - it's one of my favorite things here, that everyone has such different experiences and does such different things. It's really amazing what we can learn from each other. [ and besides, this sounds kind of cool... ] ..What's a biome? Is that like an animal's house? What's your favorite kind of animal to study?
[ opens their mouth. closes it, as they realize they shouldn't get too scientific here. ]
It's basically individual environments where animals and plants reside. Biomes tend to have specific climates, which affects what lives there-- so, more aquatic animals wouldn't really live in a desert biome.
I see...! [ this is an excellent explanation, and he nods, now looking back at the ocean in fascination. ] That's really interesting, Pesti. I can't imagine what kind of interesting discoveries you've made.
[ which, actually... ]
You and War are both scholarly types, huh... ? [ our smart npcs... ] Is Famine like that, too?
I think... all four of us are, actually. [ includes death in this. ] Our fields are just different. But it's partly why we get along. We all tend to view things a little more logically.
[ it's what makes joining a cult funny. ]
Although I realize I don't usually give off that impression compared to the others.
[ i have to erase death from my memory because nu is dead to me
oh! that makes him laugh, a little. ]
Heh. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. You shouldn't ever judge a book by its cover! I mean... If you compared me to Sir Sazantos, our attitudes couldn't be any more different! [ compared to sazantos rondo is the doofiest, goofiest puppy in the entire world. it is like comparing an apple to a flamingo.] I don't know that I could ever be as serious as he is, but... here I am, anyway.
[ ✨ flameguard ✨ for some reason. ]
If the world was made up of all the same kinds of people, it'd be awfully boring.
...Something like that. [ though they can probably tell by the :tails: expression that's not entirely the case. ] Usually, it's...because the Flameguard has passed on, or died in battle. There have not been many Flameguards, though, so... The last one prior to my mentor perished in a battle decades ago.
[ that comes out immediately. whatever complex Sazantos Feelings he has are not altered at all by the whole betrayal thing, at least when it comes to this, though his smile's a little sad. ]
The strongest person you could ever imagine. His Flame was the brightest, purest azure blue in the world. And he's - beautiful, too. Like an angel that came straight down from the heavens. And he was a strict mentor, but, I couldn't have asked for a better person to learn from.
No, I get it. Sometimes you meet someone, and what they represent is so-- dazzling! Just looking at them, and hearing what they believe, and seeing how they work... it's enough to move mountains! And then things change.

And you just... never had a day off...?

Ah, don't jinx it. Someone could throw them in at any time. [ a pause. ] Although they may not live for long if that occurred...
