Most cults have similar ideas and similar executions of their plans. Bringing a dead god into existence, consolidating power, controlling the masses, a little murder if things don’t go right—-

I'm not sure what it is you get out of a cult unless you fervently believe in something they are trying to sell you. Don't get me wrong, the power they're seeking can certainly be that belief.
