Before applying, please make sure you've fully read and understand the game information and other relevant pages. Similarly, if there's anything you're still unsure of, don't hesitate to ask us any last minute questions! We're always glad to help. All applications should be posted to this entry and will be screened. Please remember to keep them private if you decide to post them in your own journal!

PLEASE READ: This game will have mod assigned interactions between players that will significantly affect game mechanics. These interactions will be opt-in ICly, however they are still mod assigned OOCly before game start. If you have any concerns or questions, please DM us before the application period is over to discuss them with us.

Applications are currently OPEN. They open on Friday, May 31st at 3PM EST and will close on Wednesday, June 5th at 3PM EST, or as soon as all applications have been received. Please note that even if we close applications early, the game will not start any earlier. It will only give you more time to prep before game start.

Motivations: In one or two paragraphs, please describe what your character is motivated by - their goals and desires more generally, as well as what might push them to murder.

What is your character's greatest fear(s)? What is their greatest hope(s)? Please detail what your character is scared of that may affect their time in game or decision making, as well as their hopes. Hopes should be different than motivations, but if it is impossible to separate the two, please note that as well.

Moral Alignment: If you're not sure, check out this website and choose your best approximation.

Measurements: Much like recent games in the past, we ask players to provide an estimation of hand size, foot size, height and weight! If you don’t have a canon height and weight, an approximation is fine. For hand and foot size, small/average/large for their height/weight is specific enough. For height, please provide measurements. For weight, build is okay. We are also asking you to mention any unusual physical features (hooves, bird hands, no head) relevant to these measurements.

Hair/Eye color: Self-explanatory! Please provide your character's hair and eye color to assist your mods when doing things like hair checks, etc.

Home Item: All characters may come into the game with one item from home. If your home item has any magical properties or powers, those will be nerfed.

MURDER PRIMER

Hi folks! For both our newer players and to refresh our older folks, we have some general murder game etiquette guidance and advice. Please give everything a read!

Mod Communication: The mods are always here if you have questions, concerns, or fun ideas! Whether it's to brainstorm some chaos or talk through concerns about game mechanics, decisions, player behavior, etc, you are welcome to speak to us privately at any time.

We only ask that for questions, etc, players start a group chat with the mods (Anna, Dana, Francy, Nu), or ask us to create one; it makes our lives a little easier, as we don't have to ferry information between each other. Thank you!

Activity Check: Voting at trials is activity check; trials are mandatory for living players! We know things happen, and being out for a Saturday here and again is understandable, but if you find yourself regularly unable to attend trial, you may wish to consider dying early and/or speaking to the mods. Being officially out of trial (or part of it) removes your ability to murder, which is an essential part of the game.

Murder Availability & Death: Please be prepared for the possibility of both dying or being rolled to kill! There is no opting out of either; if you're rolled and end up busy that week, you'll be expected to kill the following week. Death is part of the murder game experience, and nothing personal! We encourage everyone to have fun with it.

Trial Communication: Please don't OOCly share details about murders! Telling people who killed you, explanations of crime scenes, evidence to look for, etc, are considered infomodding and make trials less fun for everyone else. Likewise, while it's natural to collaborate with others during trial, please always keep in mind that anyone can be a murderer, and not to doxx whether you are innocent or guilty OOCly. For these reasons, we encourage everyone to keep theories IC and not just in text or voice chats.

Also, it is of course okay to step away during trial, please take care of yourselves! We do ask that if you intend to leave for a while that you shoot us a quick message; this is in case anyone pings you or makes an accusation, etc.

Trial Outcomes: While we know there might be IC disappointment in not finding a culprit, it often happens! It isn't losing or a result of player mistakes, so we hope no one will be too down on themselves. And likewise, there is no winning or losing when it comes to murder–all culprits should be ready for the possibility of getting caught, just as victims should be ready for their murderer to get away. For all parties, please be active at your murder trial; be present for checks, ready for mod questions, etc.

Information Sharing: There may also occasionally be IC gag orders or limitations on plot information. As mods we will be forthcoming when this is the case, but if you aren't sure about sharing something (especially in public), please always feel free to contact us!
