that's the past, that he'd have to chase. the present is here. and the present is two teens (probably) who are dealing with a very, very large, very terrifying monster that just ate them ten seconds ago. he turns to lavi, and his mouth crooks up very briefly - rondo dips his head in a bow of understanding. his body hurts, his heart hurts, but there are people who need protecting.
