[ that's okay i've never remembered how to ask an npc a plot question in my life ]
This isn't what any of you want to hear, but I can only speculate. I assume it's that this dimension and that one are connected, in some way. The layout of this town is similar to that of the village—the fog exists in both places. Originally, I thought of it as a one-way mirror, where we can see them but not the other way around.
The hole runs contrary to that. But it's getting larger and more refined by the week. Our machine already ripped through so much dimensional fabric—it isn't so strange to imagine that this is an irregularity caused by that, like, for instance, a hole in cloth that's being torn wider with time...
Not like I fully get this stuff myself. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't something specific anyone did we should be trying to... recreate. Or something dangerous we should be trying to stop.
[ either of those things would be a pain. ]
So they're sort of like two identical worlds. But... parallel? Or something. [ he is trying to compare it to the ff7 multiple world thing sephiroth introduced to him 5 minutes before the end of the game i still dont fully understand and neither does he, so he shakes his head because Not The Point ] You implied we can change ours. Maybe not on purpose, but... at least influence it in some way. You think there's a way we can use that to affect their version?
A few of you have suggested rebuilding the machine we made. But it'd have to be improved on its original version to be worthwhile, or serve some other purpose. No use just trying to replicate the exact same thing.
[ since all it did was BLOW UP and CAUSE RANDOM DIMENSIONAL HOLES to silent hill which is killing them 10000 times a week ]
Parallel worlds is an idea... Or at least neighboring ones. I don't know if it'd be so easy to directly affect them. But we can at least see if we can expand our influence. Right now, it's just yelling at the other overseers.
[ do not remake machines that blow up. that's his knowledge of building tech. ]
Expanding our influence might get us somewhere. If we can connect on our end, maybe we can help them out somehow...? [ sighs ] Not that I've got any clue where to start with something like that.
More physically strong. But you can't exactly fight a fire with brawn.

...Besides, they weren't going to be able to reach anybody in that blaze. I don't think they were thinking straight to begin with. [ just focused on trying to help somebody. ]

I don't mind practical questions like these, if you have others.

The... hole thing. That lets the other three talk with us. You know what made that happen?

It'd be hard to manage if we can't figure out how our own dimension works first.
