But he laughs quietly, content to rest against a couch cushion, grow accustomed to Nehan's weight on him, and just enjoy this moment for what it is, as strange as it is. So he doesn't need the surge of confidence to do this, but just their normal, stupid escalation: he drops his head, pressing in for a gentle kiss. It's slow, but not quite sweet when he catches Aventurine's lower lip between his teeth, biting lightly as he draws away again. ]
[ It's not an entirely unexpected move in their positions, but he still feels a peculiar fluttering in his stomach when Nehan drops in for the kiss. There's no hurry to it, and Aventurine closes his eyes and kisses back just as slow, just as leisurely.
And then has to fight back an annoyed sound when it ends. The bite to his lip does at least get him to laugh quietly, but when he opens his eyes, there's a darker look to his gaze. ]

[ Aventurine closes the barely there gap between them, returning to their kiss. Again, there isn't a rush to it, but it's deeper this time, hungrier. ]
[ He's not usually the type to fool around; it's boring and messy and always a power thing. This is different, at least. Lazier and syrupy. If there are still strings attached, they're easier not to mind. (Can it be both? Is it really either?)
It doesn't have to mean anything, and he doesn't read into the way he looks at him, but it's still nice. He rests more of his weight against Aventurine, and responds with patience. He's in no rush, even as he opens his mouth to kiss more deeply, fully.

[ That's both of them looking to take their sweet time. Aventurine, despite his constant posturing, isn't one to throw himself into bed with just anyone, and over the past month of mishaps, misgivings, and misfortunes, Nehan has become someone.
His hands begin to wander, eager and curious, and while the unexplainable boost in confidence helps things along, Aventurine knows the feeling of fond warmth centered in his chest belongs to him alone. He's lost in the moment, a satisfied smile on his face when the pause comes.
And then he's laughing at the threat, breathless and easy. Delighted. ]
