Now I feel as though you'll pass judgment on me if I don't have good questions to ask you.
[WHO THE HELL TREATS GET TO KNOW YOU CHATS AS A GAME OF 20 QUESTIONS. He's going to hit every NPC with a brick except Pesto who has done nothing wrong.]
You're so quick to change your answer, that only makes me feel less certain...
[HE'S GONNA BE JUDGED!!!!! AGAIN!!!!! These bitches are so judgmental and for what.]
But that sounds fair enough, I suppose, even if it's quite outside of a natural conversational flow. Hm... Let's see. [Now he has to THINK OF QUESTIONS??? Instead of just SHOOTING THE SHIT?? This is actually fine for him but i aki am ready to hit you with a frying pan for making me think in an audience thread]
How much of your time have you given to this group? I find it hard to believe they would let just anyone babysit their forty-someodd sacrifices.
[Desperately hoping they truly just let whoever do it.]
[They do not 'shoot the shit?' Their conversational style is nearly hostile?
They do not seem to judge this question.]
We volunteered, because very few cultists want to babysit forty-some sacrifices. Usually, we would be your overseers to prevent anything like mass rebellion.
[Maybe if you shot more shit you wouldn't have ended up in a CULT.]
I see... So they would have taken any volunteer, essentially?
[This seems foolish but it's foolishness that will potentially benefit him, considering it put some miscreant traitors in charge of them instead of actual enthusiastic cultists, so he won't judge.
The question has him frowning, though.]
I've had words project, yes.
[Over the top of his clothing, since he is dressed like a nun, almost fully covered.]
Here and again, yes. Not much in the way of assignments, and nothing that required so much bloodshed. I think it is natural to gravitate towards people who share the same sort of boundaries as you, especially in a place like a cult.
It's rather strange to go from little bloodshed to the killing of nearly forty people... But there's something to be said about groups of people and the things they can work themselves up to doing.
[GAZING INTO THE MIDDLE DISTANCE not literally but the energy of someone who wants to.
Also FINE I GUESS, perhaps they will catch a little word hovering above his shoulder which simply says Nadia.]
Are there that many people with differing boundaries in something like a cult?
It wouldn't surprise me if they'd shed more blood prior to our joining. Rituals just take time to prepare.
...But yes, when no one has any reservations, people can drive each other to new, awful depths. Many of the others insisted on blood ceremony. I would not expect an ounce of mercy from them.
I wouldn't expect mercy from anyone who would think it a good idea to bring children to harm, regardless of their insistence on anything else. [He's so big mad about this even though Karma is insane.
THAT SAID he looks a little surprised by the sudden mention of that name and reflexively glances down at himself like WORDS?? INK BETRAYAL?? But he doesn't see SHIT what the fck. So, with a somewhat hesitant look:]
[They are so right to be disdainful over this even if it's the only brief break in their otherwise disaffected demeanor...]
Sacrifice of innocent people is unacceptable regardless, but the easy involvement of children speaks to the sort we're dealing with.
[He's gonna get his brick out and start hitting. That said, he'll glance down at his traitor shoulder as best he can which is still difficult but at least not as impossible as trying to see your own back. Things he did try.]
...She herself is neither. [THAT'S HIS BABY SISTER THE BEST GIRL IN THE WORLD.]
[Someone socialize Death this fucker is just a porch raccoon that needs to be fed.]
Of course. [Lucas like ARE THERE PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO DON'T FIND THEIR PRECIOUS BABY SISTERS IMPORTANT he'll hit them with bricks too.] Is it not the same for you and your sister?
[They don't speak with any pauses or awkwardness. Perfectly capable of conversations. But they're an expert at deliberately driving them into the ground, yes, like so:]
My sister has been dead for more years than I knew her for. But I think we were close though, yeah.
[Unfortunately they are speaking to someone from Arpechele, where everyone has at least one dead relative and probably more like a 4:1 dead to living ratio per family unit. He still looks sympathetic, though.]
I see... I'm sorry to hear that, though I'm glad you were able to enjoy a close bond while she was alive.
[Bad. Anyway I lost track and forgot they were in the garden, they'll usher Lucas to sit.]
You don't need to sympathize. [This is not prickly, said like a statement of fact. They are not a fan of receiving positive emotions.] I don't remember her very well at this point. What's Nadia like?
[oh i also forgot where they were NOOOO EXISTING IN THE VOID it's fine he'll move to sit. Daintly, as is the way in which he does fucking everything.]
It's not something I do out of necessity... [Receive the positive emotions, he can't control them you dumb binch.]
Oh, but Nadia is a lovely girl, really - the sweetest you could ever meet. She's brave and clever and kind... The sort of person who leaves everyone she meets smiling.
[He'll hold his hand out while he's speaking! He's at least cleaned all the blood up unless Death appeared like fuckin instantly after the crow was sent out. Also there's a healing leech bite on his palm, but that is a separate and worse incident.]

I won't. Well, no, I might. [They changed their mind in about .5 seconds.] But if you ask something I don't want to answer, I won't.
And when I feel like it, I'll ask you something, too.

My turn. Have you had any ink surface up?

I've had words project, yes.
[Over the top of his clothing, since he is dressed like a nun, almost fully covered.]
no subject
Basically. The four of us work well enough together, so they didn't think anything of it.
[Is any ink visible, Aki. I don't care about spoilers, stop caring about spoiling.]
no subject
So you've worked together before, then? On projects presumably less sacrifice-intensive...
no subject

[Anyway. Bluntly,]
Who is Nadia?
no subject
[HE THINKS EVERYONE SHOULD STOP LETTING CULTS EXIST. Perhaps explode them.]
Nadia is my younger sister.
no subject
...There are many children here.
[KARMA IS INSANE BUT HE IS SO BABY. They very, very lightly tap his shoulder to indicate where the word is.]
Is she a regret, or a fear?
no subject
Sacrifice of innocent people is unacceptable regardless, but the easy involvement of children speaks to the sort we're dealing with.

no subject
[Dryly asked.]
Her circumstances must be one or the other. Or both.
no subject
Sacrifice is best avoided, of course, especially with greed being a driving factor behind it.
[Anyway speaking of avoiding things THAT'S HIM, AVOIDING RESPONDING TO THIS STATEMENT.]
A name itself is really rather vague... I've seen very detailed sentences, by comparison.
no subject
Oh, you're evasive for someone who looks to talk to people.
[No, Death is being rude. Don't ask about someone's sad anime sister.]
no subject
My apologies, were you expecting a detailed answer?
no subject
You wouldn't have asked about my older sister, if you knew I had one?
no subject
[He is too tactful to look at someone's sister tattoo and go SO IS THAT YOUR FEAR OR YOUR REGRET.]
no subject
Fine.
This means she's someone important to you. Right?
no subject
Of course. [Lucas like ARE THERE PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO DON'T FIND THEIR PRECIOUS BABY SISTERS IMPORTANT he'll hit them with bricks too.] Is it not the same for you and your sister?
