How did they become that type of non-human? Are they born that way?

They're born normal at first, and then something called the Noah gene activates in 'em when they're older. That's what gives them their abilities and all the memories of Noah that came before them.

So you don't want to have this Noah gene activated within you? What are these abilities? It is a conglomerate memory that is shared among all Noah?

...It is yeah. The memory's from Noah, the progenitor of mankind after the Great Flood wiped everyone else out -- or at least, that's what the Bible says. [religion...] Only twelve people can have the Noah gene activated at the same time. So if one of them gets destroyed, the gene can just wake up someone else.

You don't get a choice in it, and the Noah's memory and emotions overtake your own. M'not too keen on living in someone else's shadow, even if it means I can have powers. Even if it's stuff like transforming into anything that exists, or creating different dream worlds.
