[ THIS IS REALLY NOT AN INCORRECT DESCRIPTION ACTUALLY
help, though, war please. ]
Haha - that's a part of learning, I mean! No one starts out as an expert... There's nothing shameful about it. At least, I don't think so - if there was, I would have given up trying to be a swordsman a long time ago. So long as we keep trying until we learn and get better, that's what matters.
I don't exactly have the same luxury of lenience that you do, I think. At least, I didn't when I was younger, when I was studying. I wouldn't be where I am now if... not for quick perfection.
[ the luxury of lenience... yeah. he looks down a little, rubbing his chest. ]
... that makes sense. [ it feels a little familiar, though, not so much for himself. rondo has had so much lenience - to him and the rest of the world, that's his problem. ]
Well...still - no one's putting that pressure on you about gardening. Right?
[ elder sibling syndrome. everything rests on your shoulders, and you pave the way for the family. etc., etc. ]
Well, our land isn't exactly fit for much gardening. A few things inside the city closer to the court and our queen, but not so much everywhere else. It's probably why I was reading books, and my brother was busy waving around a stick if I could get him out of bed.
the stick waving makes him laugh, though, immediately. because...same. ] I'd really like to meet your brother. I think we'd get along. He didn't have to do lessons, too? I never got to just do one, I had to do both.
[ not that he minded. and it's made him a more well rounded person now - rondo likes books AND swinging swords around. ]
That means that you're learning something brand new with no pressure, here. And learning how to do something with no pressure is its own thing! That's kind of exciting, if it's possible.
I think you would get along as well. And yes, he also had to do some lessons. He did well at them, but his issue was when he wasn't challenged, he grew bored and lost focus.
I suppose that is what makes him a good soldier. Everything is always moving and changing.
[ and they got saddled with nerdom, it's fine. ]
...Yes, I guess. It is odd... to do something that isn't thinking and challenging myself.
[ god imagine trying to think all the time. that sounds so tiring. ]
... you should definitely rest your brain sometimes, War... but, I get it. [ rondo has never taken a day off from sword swinging in his entire life so like. that's fair. ] Maybe I'll join you! I think it's got to be a little fun to be bad at something with company.
[ also he's such a clown at many things maybe it'll make it easier. the perfectionism. agonizing. ]
[ WAR PLEASE also that's not wrong. he's used to a persnickety cat though so maybe he'll be fine. ]
Hehe! Well, we'll just have to see.
[ rondo is a frat boy and therefore he is competitive. he is probably going to lose at gardening (?) but that's okay. he doesn't mind egging it on juuust a little. good natured! ]
rondo does not do this. in fact the only reason he has gloves on is because they were already on his hands. he'd just go for this bare fisted otherwise.
but rondo nods...!! and takes that last bit to heart, recognizing a piece of wisdom when he gets it. rip out the root, not just the stem. cut down the evil at its source. ]
You've got it. [ he kneels down so he can actually get at the plant roots, wiggling his fingers. ready! ]

this is going to go well considering war is extremely particular and rondo seems like the type to wing it. ]
It is bold of you to think I will be bad at it.

they arrive at some of the beds near the center of town where there is left some gloves and a trowel. ]
The weeds are growing in again.

...Those, right? Do we just need to yank them out...?
[ very delicate. great start. ]

put them on over the gloves they already have on. ]
I will break the roots up, and then you can pull them out of the ground behind me. Make sure to get as much of the root as possible.
A root left behind whether plant or thought will once again regrow.
