If there is something that you want in the world that you do not think that you can achieve with your own hands, this is a fairly painless way to reach it. In the worst case scenario, you are sacrificed eventually, but you are able to still accomplish something in your home. In the best case scenario, you have a terrible two month detour but come out of it with something that is undoubtedly a benefit to you.

I don't disagree with you. Weighing the options is important, but if someone else has agreed to the partner bond, it likely means there's something they want so badly that they'd put their life on the line for it too.
